2001-04 LB7 Duramax Engine - "Tow / Mild Street Build"
Description
This is what we call our "Tow/Mild Street Build" Longblock which is a rated for mild upgrades like a small upgraded turbo/injector combo packages for more efficient towing use, we go through our Duramax Longblocks and get rid of all the factory weak points they are known for and are common issues. All of our Duramax Longblocks come standard with Mahle/Dualoy LB7 OE Style Pistons, we get rid of the 5mm dowel pins on the crank and cam by machining a keyway into these areas on the crankshaft and camshaft to get rid of the dowel pin shearing issues, we use the Wagler Competition Oil Pumps which are pinned and shimmed to increase oil pressure. All of our longblocks come with ARP Head Studs as a standard option. Our "Tow / Mild Street Build" Longblocks include a Callies Durastar Forged Crank, ARP Rod Bolts, ARP Main Studs, and SBI Performance Valve Springs that retain factory keepers and retainers. While this setup is a solid and strong setup keep in mind your still using stock rods which have limitations, a general estimate hp on LBZ Rods are 600hp-650hp at the flywheel, depends on tuning, fuel, and turbo setups. If you feel you are or will be over this upgrade to a Forged Rod. Forged Rods are good for 1000hp builds but this doesn't mean the bottom end will handle it as once you get to the 750hp mark you need to add Billet Main Caps. Assembled Long Block for a 01-04 LB7 GM Duramax Truck Engine consisting of the following
- Block cleaned, checked and Painted Black
- Main Cap Bore Checked and Honed
- Block is Bored and Torque Plate Honed for Mahle/Dualoy LB7 OE Pistons and Decked for a Fresh Gasket Sealing Surface.
- LBZ Rods
- Callies Durastar Forged Crankshaft
- ARP / OptiTorque Rod Bolts and ARP / OptiTorque Main Studs
- SBI Performance 70psi rated Valve Springs
- New Mahle/Dualoy LB7 OE Pistons
- New Mahle/King P-Series Main Bearings, New Mahle/King P-Series Rod Bearings, New Mahle/King Thrust Bearings
- Cylinder Heads get New Valve Guides if needed, if not then they will receive Bronze Valve Guide Liners, New Valve Seals, 3-4 Angle Valve Job Performed, Surfaced, Pressure Tested, New Valve Springs
- LB7 Heads will receive new Injector Cups and O'ring's Preinstalled
- New Mahle Grade C Wavestopper Head Gaskets
- Cam is Inspected, Measured and Keyed
- ARP or OptiTorque Head Studs are Standard on all Builds
- Crankshaft is Balanced for the Assembly, Polished and Keyed to removed the 5mm Dowel Pins that Fail and Sheer Off.

CORE CHARGE POLICY
Core Charge is a up front payment unless you send in your core prior, return shipping is covered by the customer, if you don't have a way to ship the core back we can setup return shipping and subtract it from the core charge and can provide a quote for the return shipping. Core Charge deductions are per motor, deductions go like so
- Broke Cranks, or any Cummins crank that require rod journals turned or the Mains turned past .010 are considered unusable, Duramax Cranks that can not be polished on the journals due to any spun bearings will make them unusable - MINUS $500 off the core charge
- Hole in Block, Spun Main Bearings that are spun into the block mains, Cracked Blocks, Hole in Cylinder Walls, etc that makes the block unusable - MINUS $500 off the core charge
- Bent, damaged, broke Connecting Rods - Minus $35 each off the core charge
- Cummins Cylinder Heads that are cracked, damaged from dropped valves or valve seats, grooved heads, etc - Minus $500 off the core charge
- Duramax Cylinder Heads that are cracked, or damaged from dropped valves, etc - Minus $200 per head off the core charge
- Damaged or Unusable Camshafts - Minus $100 off the core charge
- Missing Valvetrain Components - Minus $150-$200 for the set off the core charge
- Other Missing Components not listed from the core will be price accordingly to market value and prices above are subject to change.
Exceptions to the core fee charge values are if you buy a new part or upgraded part as for example if purchasing a Callies Duramax Crankshaft in place of a stock crankshaft on a Duramax core with a broke crank issue then a broke crank fee is waived and so on.

NOTES FOR OPTIONS LISTED
***L5P Oil Cooler Options requires that the heat shield and lower mounting boss for the heat shield on the driver side exhaust manifold be trimmed slightly to fit the larger oil cooler, aftermarket manifolds do not require this modification.
